Parents as Teachers is a free universal access program for families in the El Dorado Springs School District, offering support from pregnancy through kindergarten entry. Our certified Parent Educators partner with families to:
- Share child development knowledge and resources.
- Provide in-home and community visits.
- Offer developmental screenings for children.
- Connect families with local services and opportunities.

The first five years of life are critical to a child’s growth and future success. By working hand-in-hand with families, we help ensure children are healthy, safe, and ready to learn when they enter school.

El Dorado Springs Parents as Teachers is proud to serve as a Childhood Community Leader for the DESE Office of Childhood in early childhood education, across Southwest Missouri, collaborating with schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers. Together, we create a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.

Diaper Support Through Parents as Teachers & Community Diaper Outreach
El Dorado Springs Parents as Teachers is proud to partner with Community Diaper Outreach, an affiliate of Happy Bottoms in Kansas City, to support families in our community.
Through this partnership, we are able to provide monthly diaper distributions during our Parents as Teachers affiliate home visits.
What Families Receive:

75 diapers per month for each eligible child

Diaper support continues until the child turns 4 years old

Potty training tips and Pull-Up guidance provided when families are ready for that stage
This partnership helps meet a basic need for families while supporting child development and healthy home environments. We’re honored to work together to give every child the best start possible.

If you are a family with a child under age 4 and are enrolled in our Parents as Teachers program, you may qualify for this monthly diaper support. Contact your parent educator for more information.
